Unsure of what to do about my current predicament, I have at least had the presence of mind to keep up appearances by attending regular social events. Most recently, I attended the birthday party of Steelhead’s own Miss Tensai Hilra.

Unfortunately for the assembled guests, Mt. St. Helens erupted not once, not twice, but on at least four separate occasions during the night’s festivities. In the photos below, a picture truly is worth a thousand words, as these images portray the raw intensity of nature’s power better than words ever could.

Guests look up in alarm at the initial blast.

My dance partner and I flee the first explosion.

I have more photos to develop, but I lack either the time or the temper to do so at present. Given recent events, I find myself merely grateful to be alive. Until next we meet, then, I remain —

Your Death Defying,

–Miss Palabra Puddlegum–
